Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety and stress often show up when your nervous system has been carrying more than it was ever meant to hold. From a trauma-informed perspective, these reactions are not signs that something is wrong with you; they are protective signals from a body that has learned to stay alert, prepared, and braced for what might come next.
You may notice racing thoughts, tension, irritability, difficulty relaxing, or feeling constantly overwhelmed or “on edge.” You might also find yourself shutting down, avoiding, or feeling disconnected when things become too much. These experiences are understandable responses to long periods of stress, past trauma, emotional overwhelm, or unmet needs.
In therapy, we gently explore what your anxiety or stress is trying to communicate. Together, we work to help your nervous system feel safer, ground your body, soften fear-driven patterns, and reconnect you with ease, clarity, and internal steadiness. Healing does not mean eliminating all anxiety — it means learning to relate to it with understanding rather than fear.
