BUILDING ON YOUR STRENGTHS TO CREATE MEANINGFUL CHANGE

Solution-Focused Therapy

Have you been feeling stuck and wondering how to move forward?

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, leaving us unsure of where to begin. You may know something needs to change but feel uncertain about the next step. Perhaps you've been carrying the same challenges for a long time or feel discouraged because nothing seems to be helping.

While understanding our struggles is important, therapy can also be a space to recognize what's already working, reconnect with your strengths, and build practical strategies for moving forward.

Solution-Focused Therapy is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify meaningful changes, build on your existing strengths, and create realistic steps toward the life you want.

At Holding Space for You Psychotherapy, we use Solution-Focused Therapy as part of a personalized, evidence-based approach that honours your experiences while helping you move toward lasting growth and positive change.

WHAT IS SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY?

Solution-Focused Therapy is an evidence-based approach that focuses on your strengths, resources, and goals rather than becoming stuck in problems.

This doesn't mean we ignore your experiences or difficult emotions. Instead, we create space to understand what's bringing you to therapy while also exploring what has helped you cope, the strengths you already possess, and the small changes that can lead to meaningful progress.

Rather than asking only "What's wrong?", Solution-Focused Therapy also asks:

What would you like your life to look like?

What's already working, even a little?

What strengths have helped you through difficult times before?

What is one small step you could take toward your goal?

These conversations help create hope, momentum, and lasting change.
